Dedham, MA - The highly anticipated trial of Karen Read resumed on Thursday, December 15th, with testimony from law enforcement officials taking center stage. Read is accused of driving drunk and killing her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe, in 2019. The incident occurred on January 27th, 2019, after a night of heavy drinking. Prosecutors allege that Read left the scene of the accident without rendering aid to O'Keefe.

On Thursday, the prosecution presented testimony from several Boston Police officers who responded to the scene. Officer Michael Sullivan described arriving to find O'Keefe lying unconscious in the street with severe head injuries. He also testified that Read had fled the scene in her vehicle.
