Munich, Germany - Bayern Munich rising star Jamal Musiala suffered an injury blow during training to begin the 2023/24 season. The 18-year-old midfielder was substituted after 40 minutes with a hamstring problem, according to the club. Bayern staff diagnosed Musiala with a torn muscle fibre in his left thigh after he was examined by medical personnel.

Musiala has been out since November with a previous hamstring injury. He has missed 10 matches for Bayern in all competitions this season due to the ongoing issue. The injury is a major setback for Bayern, who are currently competing for the Bundesliga title and the Champions League.

Musiala is one of the most promising young players in Europe. He has made 53 appearances for Bayern since making his debut in 2020. He has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in that time.
